The Prague Castle quarter

Ever since the 9th century, Prague Castle has been the centre of political and religious power. Nowadays, it is the seat of the Czech president. The castle is made up of several courts, the Old Royal Palace, site of the second Prague Defenestration, St. Vitus Cathedral with the royal tomb and St. Wenceslas Chapel, the Romanesque St. George’s Basilica and the mystical Golden Lane.

During your guided tour you will also go up the Castle hill, from where you can admire the view of the city. The guided tour starts in the Premonstratensian Strahov Monastery, where you will visit its grand Theological and Philosophical halls. Afterwards, the tour will continue with the visit of pilgrimage site, the Loreto Church of the Nativity. The complex includes the Holy House, the carillon that plays the Loretan Marian song, the Church of the Nativity and the great Loreto treasure.
